NEW SHOPPING EXPERIENCES AT SUMMERFEST 2021

Featuring Shop Local Market and BMO EMpower Grant Recipients

MILWAUKEE, WI (August 25, 2021) – Summerfest presented by American Family Insurance will offer fest-goers a unique shopping experience during the festival in September. Nearly 100 vendors will showcase items ranging from clothing and accessories to jewelry, artwork, and décor.  The Summerfest shopping experience will also include interactive experiences such as face painting, caricature art, henna, tie dye, and much more.

Four shopping areas can be found at Summerfest – North Market, South Market, the Artisan Makers Market, and the new Shop Local Market.  In addition, other vendors are scattered throughout the festival grounds, including along the lake walk.

NEW THIS YEAR:

The Shop Local Market

Summerfest will feature over 20 vendors at the new Shop Local Market, located between the Generac Power Stage and Miller Lite Oasis.  The Shop Local Market vendors are all Wisconsin-based small businesses and artisans. The area features a wide variety of shopping options including Milwaukee-themed items, upcycled clothing, natural body products, textiles and macrame, original artwork, and more.

BMO EMpower Grant Program for Marketplace Vendors

As part of BMO EMpower, BMO’s five year, $5 billion commitment to addressing key barriers faced by minority owned businesses, BMO developed the BMO EMpower Grant Program. BMO sponsored 11 minority-owned businesses to receive funds to help support their first year as a Summerfest Marketplace vendor, including goals such as elevating their displays, featuring broader product inventories, and other upfront event costs. BMO EMpower recipients will also receive networking opportunities and access to educational events structured for small business owners.  The vendors will be identified on site at their respective locations during Summerfest.  Visit the BMO Harris Pavilion page for the list of BMO EMpower vendors during Summerfest.
