Summerfest Announces Def Leppard To Headline The Marcus Amphitheater On Wednesday, July 6

Def Leppard has just announced that they will return to the road this summer for an extensive tour across North America due to overwhelming demand. The Live Nation promoted outing will storm through 55 cities across all parts of the U.S. and Canada. It is set to kick off on May 1st in Orlando, FL and wrap on October 10th in Cedar Rapids, IA. Joining Def Leppard on their rockin’ summer tour are special guests REO Speedwagon and Tesla.

Weezer and Panic! At The Disco announced their 40+ city co-headlining tour in support of their respective new albums Weezer (self-titled) and Death Of A Bachelor. The summer 2016 tour will kick off on June 10 at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and continue through major markets like Miami, Dallas, Boston and Chicago before concluding in Irvine, CA’s Irvine Meadows Amphitheater on August 6. Indie-alternative artist Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness will be featured as a special guest on the tour. Tickets on sale beginning January 22 via Weezer.com and PanicAtTheDisco.com.

Summerfest Foundation, Inc. Awards $25,000 In Music Education Grants

Summerfest Foundation, Inc. was proud to award ten area schools and non-profit organizations with music education grants during a formal check presentation outside of the South Gate of the Henry Maier Festival Park this morning. A total of $25,000 was awarded to enhance opportunities for students who may have no exposure to instrumental music or those who may require advanced instruction which is currently unavailable to them.
