Fourth Annual Let The Music Play Program Grows in 2021

Posted: Nov 01, 2021

MILWAUKEE, WI (November 1, 2021) – Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. (MWF) and American Family Insurance are proud to announce that the application process for the fourth year of The Let The Music Play grant program is now open at https://summerfest.com/let-the-music-play/ . Non-profit organizations, or school programs that support music education, are encouraged to apply. The deadline for submitting an application is November 30, 2021. The selected grant recipients may also showcase their talents during Summerfest 2022.

The grant distribution for the Let The Music Play program is larger this year, due to the proceeds from the “Curtains Up…Let’s Rock” event held in September 2021, presented by American Family Insurance and T&M Partners/Kelben Foundation.  This special event celebrated the opening of the new American Family Insurance Amphitheater, which hosted 18 concerts during its first two months of operation.

“MWF is proud to continue the Let The Music Play Program for the fourth year. We receive applications from a variety of deserving organizations every year, so we are especially excited to have additional support to work with, thanks to the generosity of American Family Insurance and T&M Partners/Kelben Foundation” said Don Smiley, President and CEO of Milwaukee World Festival, Inc.

“We value our partnership with Milwaukee World Festival and are pleased to continue our support of the Let the Music Play program,” said Seth Freeman, American Family Insurance associate vice president of marketing. “We believe these programs are important and meaningful, not only to the program participants but to the community and organizations of Milwaukee.”

Since its inception, the Let The Music Play grant program has awarded grants to 19 organizations including Girls Rock Milwaukee summer band camp, Golda Meir School and Latino Arts , Inc.  The program is open to non-profit organizations and schools that serve Milwaukee County through music-based programming for students aged 11 - 18. The Let The Music Play grant program is intended to represent the variety of music-based activities taking place in the greater Milwaukee community and is open to programs ranging from band, orchestra and jazz to musical theater and dance.
