MILWAUKEE (May 6, 2015) - The 4th annual Land the Big Gig® music competition kicked off in April, giving the nation’s top musical talents the opportunity to win cash prizes and the chance to perform live before thousands of music fans at Summerfest on June 25.  Now, fans who wish to elevate their favorite bands, singer-songwriters and musicians to the finals may begin voting at Presented by Summerfest,Tap Milwaukee and Pepsi, Land the Big Gig® gives three (3) finalists the opportunity to take their music careers to the next level when they perform live before thousands of Summerfest attendees for their chance to win a share of $30,000 in prizes, including cash, travel and accommodations. 

For the past month, artists from around the United States have been entering for their chance to take the stage by submitting an original song to the Land the Big Gig® website.  Beginning today at 1:00 pm CDT through May 24 at 11:59:59 pm CDT, music fans can vote for an artist to become a finalist in the competition.

The top three (3) finalists will be announced on Wednesday, June 10.  Finalists will win a trip to Milwaukee to perform at Summerfest on the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard Stage on Thursday, June 25, and have a chance to win a share of up to $30,000 in cash and prizes; grand prize is $20,000, second prize is $5,000 and the runner-up prize is $2,500.

Summerfest, “The World’s Largest Music Festival” features over 800 acts and 1,000 performances on 11 stages over 11 days, providing an unforgettable live music experience for nearly 900,000 music fans from around the world.  For the past 48 years, Summerfest has been Milwaukee’s cornerstone celebration, offering entertainment for everyone along the shores of Lake Michigan.

Last year, Land the Big Gig® drew artists from around the country with the opportunity to perform live at Summerfest.  The grand prize winner of $20,000 came all the way from Los Angeles, CA.
